Unknowingly caught up in an "investigation"
One of the last folks I spoke with at the farmer's market last weekend told me how when they heard about Flock Safety and their nationwide surveillance network, they went to haveibeenflocked.com to search for their license plate number. They found that a local jursdiction’s PD had searched their plate a ton of times.
They submitted a FOIA request (that they shared with me) with the PD to get more information and they found out that some months prior they had been put on that jurisdiction’s hotlist for one week for “investigation".
I know this next bit might be hard to believe, but when they called the PD in question for an explanation, they couldn’t provide one.
I’m being intentionally vague because the PD’s investigation of the “investigation" is ongoing. If I get an update on this story, I'll be sure to update you all with the details.
